What PrivateMP3 is

PrivateMP3 is a browser-based audio extractor and editor for media already stored on your device. It can select an audio track from a supported video or audio container, draw a waveform, remove sections, adjust the volume of a selected interval and export MP3, M4A or WAV.

The website itself is delivered as static files. After you choose a local file, the container reader, audio decoder and output writer run in a dedicated browser worker. The source media is not sent to PrivateMP3. Page delivery, Google advertising and analytics still use ordinary network requests; the precise claim is about the file you selected. What the site does not do

• There is no address box and no function that downloads or fetches media from another website or service.
• It does not bypass access controls, remove digital rights management or retrieve protected media.
• There are no user accounts, server conversion queues or cloud histories of completed jobs.
• The tools do not automatically identify copyrighted material or determine whether a particular use is lawful.

PrivateMP3 sets no account or plan-based file-size cap. That is not the same as unlimited hardware: available browser memory, temporary storage, decoder support and background-tab behavior can still limit a job on a particular device.

How the explanations are kept specific

Tool pages are written against the behavior shipped in the site. For example, they distinguish an MP4 or MKV container from its audio codec, identify the fixed 192 kbps encoding target, and state the exact conditions under which unchanged AAC can be copied into M4A. Where browser or operating-system support differs, the page avoids promising a codec will work until the selected track has passed its decoder check.

Errors are separated by processing stage: opening the container, listing tracks, reading duration, decoding the waveform, copying packets, processing audio and finishing the output. If a page description conflicts with what the controls actually do, report it through Contact.

Automated clients

Funding and responsible use

The tools are free to use and the site is funded by Google advertising. Google Analytics is used to understand page use and conversion success or failure without receiving the selected file, its name or its contents. The Privacy Policy describes those requests and the browser storage used while producing an output.

Use the tools only for recordings and media you own or otherwise have the right to process. PrivateMP3 works with local files; it is not positioned as a way to copy material from streaming platforms or other external services.
